When and where is the 2026 TAO Annual Conference? +
The 2026 Annual Conference will take place on Saturday, November 7th at the Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria.
Does TAO offer virtual registration for the conference? +
At this time, TAO does not offer a virtual option for the Annual Conference.
What will be provided at the Annual Conference? +
- Basic wireless internet
- Self-parking (for a daily fee)
- A copy of the agenda, and information about the conference
Will presentations be available on-site? +
Yes, speaker-permissioned presentations will be available on-site.
What is the suggested dress code for attending the conference? +
Smart casual / business casual. We want you to be comfortable learning and networking. Conference rooms tend to be cold, so we strongly suggest you have a sweater on hand.

When is the deadline to claim CME for the Annual Conference? +
The deadline to complete your speaker evaluation & event survey and claim your CME will be Monday, November 16, 2026.
What is the cancellation policy? +
TAO must receive notice of cancellation for refund postmarked no later than October 26, 2026. A $25 processing fee will be deducted from the registration fee paid to cover processing charges. Non-attendance does not constitute notice of cancellation. You can contact us here to cancel your registration.
I haven't received my confirmation email or any emails from TAO — what do I do? +
Please log in to your TAO profile to confirm your profile and account are up to date. Once you have completed this step, please contact the TAO office and we will resend your confirmation email.
Programming
How do I obtain my CMEs for the Annual Conference? +
The speaker evaluation & event survey will be available to complete during the conference. You will also receive an email on Monday, November 9 with the speaker evaluation. Complete this to obtain your CMEs.
How many CMEs and Ethics credits are offered at the Annual Conference? −
Continuing Medical Education
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Texas Medical Association (TMA) and the Texas Association of Otolaryngology. The Texas Medical Association is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The Texas Medical Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Ethics
The Ethical Artificial Intelligence Lecture on Saturday, November 7th fulfills 1 hour of ethics/professional responsibility hour required for Texas licensure.
What is the deadline for claiming my CMEs? +
The deadline to complete your Speaker Evaluation and claim your CME credits will be Monday, November 16, 2026.
Residents, Fellows & Medical Students
What is the housing stipend for Residents & Fellows at the Annual Conference? +
TAO offers financial assistance for Residents & Fellows of the society. The meeting stipend is $200 to help alleviate hotel and travel costs to attend the meeting.
Criteria and Guidelines
- You MUST be a TAO Resident Member. Resident membership is FREE. Sign up today!
- You must attend at least a half day of the conference. Check in with the registration desk between 1:00 – 2:00 PM to be put on the list for the resident stipend. If you do not check in at the registration desk during this time, you will not receive the stipend form and will become ineligible for the housing stipend.
I'm a medical student, can I participate in the Abstract Competition? +

I haven't been notified whether my abstract has been selected for platform presentations. +
You will be notified if your application has been selected for Platform Presentations no later than October 7th. If you do not hear from the TAO office by October 7th, please contact the TAO Office so we can send you the proper instructions.
What are the poster requirements for the poster sessions? +
The TAO office will print all approved posters and will have them displayed at the conference. Do not print or bring your own poster! Poster requirements will be sent via email to presenters no later than October 7th. If you do not receive instructions by October 7th, please contact the TAO office for assistance.
